Job Summary: Performs technical and patient care component of Angiograms, Cardiac Caths, and many other invasive procedures. Monitors patient during procedure and records hemodynamics and vital signs. Assists the physician in performance of all angiographic and interventional procedures. Maintains continuity of care for patients while they are in the cath lab. Actively pursues continuous process improvement. Must be able to maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations. Able to foster an environment of collaboration and respect. Maintains a positive approach to working in a fast paced environment. Must take emergency call with a 30 minute response time.
Minimum Requirements: Graduate from an approved school of Radiology Science or Cardiovascular Technology. Registered by the ARRT or RCIS and two years' Cath Lab experience preferred. As a condition of continued employment staff members must maintain current status at all times and not allows his/her certification/ licensure/ registry to expire or he/she will no longer be compliant with the requirement of the job description. The Cardiac Cath Angiography Specialist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on this unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements to his/her age; specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures.
