Job Summary: The Cardiopulmonary Clinical Assistant is expected to demonstrate respect, compassion, and empathy in all patient, family, visitor, and health provider interactions. The individual performs a wide range of duties that includes clerical responsibilities for all CPS departments, patient processing to include transporting outpatients and inpatients to and from CPS diagnostic testing areas, and maintenance of CPS medical records and equipment/inventory control for CPS departments. The Cardiopulmonary Clinical Assistant is expected to perform the job duties and responsibilities outlined with limited supervision, make some independent decisions, and maintain patient confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduate. Maintain current AHA BLS certification. Possess excellent clerical/ office/ filing/ organizational skills with secretarial and medical background. Able to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing) with patients, physicians, and others both in person and via telephone. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
