Job Summary: The Clinical Respiratory Care Educator is a registered respiratory therapist responsible for assessing, planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the educational needs of Respiratory Care Services.

Minimum Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care with a Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree in Respiratory Care preferred; consideration may be given to individuals in active pursuit of a Master's Degree. Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in the hospital setting. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. BCLS, NRP, and ACLS required. ACCS within one year of hire. NPS within two years of hire. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
