HVAC/R Mechanic - Engineering
Job Summary: Performs all types of installation and/or repair of various heating and air conditioning equipment and distribution systems in a healthcare environment. Must be able to implement engineering designs of various mechanical and heating and air conditioning systems in a healthcare environment. This person will also have an understanding of the various trades working in the maintenance department and aid these trades to accomplish their assigned duties. An understanding of healthcare practices and standards is a must to insure safety to himself or herself, coworkers, patients, and visitors in CarolinaEast Health System facilities. Only the highest standards in both quality and safety in a healthcare environment will be expected.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent, trade school with at least two years’ experience in HVAC.
- This experience should be sufficient to allow the person to work with little or no supervision.
- Prefer individual with a license and/or certification to install the various HVAC systems used as per NC Mechanical Code and be familiar with the NC Building Code, ADA Standards, OSHA Regulations, Life Safety Codes, Health Care Facilities Handbooks, Local Fire, Building, Plumbing, and the Mechanical Code.
