Medication History Pharmacy Tech

Job Summary: Perform Pharmacy tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy technician Supervisor, Staff Pharmacists, or Pharmacy Director/Manager. Some duties and responsibilities include accurate and timely collection of medication histories for patients entering into the hospital. Must be resourceful in ensuring an accurate medication history is obtained (patient, PCP record, pharmacy records, etc.). Must have excellent communication skills. Must maintain competencies of how medications are usually prescribed to treat common disease states.

Minimum Requirements: 

• High school education or GED. 
• Must be certified and at least one year of retail pharmacy technician experience required. 
• Ability to type and use Pharmacy computer system after an acceptable training period.
•  Ability to work assigned shifts and helps provide coverage during all operating hours as needed.
