Job Summary:The Special Procedures Technologist, under the supervision of the Special ProceduresSupervisor,Radiology ManagersandCredentialedPhysicianco-ordinatesthetechnical andpatientcarecomponentofangiograms,interventions,andotherinvasiveprocedures.He/she is responsible for all aspects of patient care in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
- GraduatefromanapprovedschoolofRadiologyScience.RegisteredbytheARRT. Two (2) years experience as a radiographer preferred.
- MaintainBLS certification.
- As a condition of continued employment, staff members must maintain current status at alltimesandnotallowhis/hercertification/licensure/registrytoexpire,or he/shewill no longer be compliant with the requirement of the job description. Once a staff member’scredentialedstatushasbeennegated/lost/revokedtheywillbeterminatedfrom their position in accordance with this job description and Human Resources policy3.11.
- The technologist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status andinterprettheappropriateinformationneededtoidentifyeachpatient’srequirements relativetohis/herage-specificneeds,andtoprovidethecareneededasdescribedinthe department’s Standard Operating Procedure manual.
