Vascular Technologist Assistant - Vascular Lab
Job Summary: The Vascular Technologist Assistant (VTA) will participate in a supervised vascular ultrasound training program coordinated by the Vascular Lab Supervisor. The VTA will perform the duties and responsibilities with direct oversight of the Vascular Lab Supervisor and/or a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) designee. The Vascular Technologist Assistant (VTA) will be responsible for performing vascular ultrasound studies to include carotid duplex, aorta duplex, vein mapping, venous duplex, arterial physiology studies, arterial duplex, renal/SMA arterial duplex, arterial by-pass grafts, dialysis access grafts, pre-op dialysis access evaluations, venous insufficiency exams, and ankle pressures. The Vascular Technologist Assistant (VTA) may perform vascular ultrasound studies without direct supervision after the Vascular Supervisor has documented the VTA’s competency to accurately perform the procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required for participation in the special training program.
- A degree in Health Science, Allied Health, and/or Nursing preferred.
- Must maintain current AHA BLS certification.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
