Job Summary: The Cardiac Diagnostic Technologist II is responsible for providing basic and advanced electrocardiographic services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. This advanced level Cardiac Diagnostic position implements the standard EKG services of the Cardiac Diagnostic Technician position, as well as advanced procedures to include Stress Nuclear Medicine procedures and Stress/Echo testing. The position also requires extensive scanning, analysis and report generation for holter, event, and long term cardiac monitors received from within CarolinaEast Medical Center, the CarolinaEast Heart Centers and CIM physician offices. The individual is required to deliver services to patients in all areas of the hospital and those services are to be performed day/evening/nights and weekends as required to provide continuous, consistent diagnostic testing. On-Call responsibilities are an important part of job requirements. The Cardiac Diagnostic Technologist II must be capable of performing the duties and responsibilities outlined without direct supervision and must be capable of making many independent decisions. CCT credential and strong cardiac arrhythmia recognition and interpretation skills required. Charge responsibilities may also be required in the absence of the Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements: High School graduate. Cardiac Diagnostic Technician (CCT) certification required. Previous experience and/or formal Cardiac Diagnostic course required 4. Strong cardiac arrhythmia recognition and interpretation skills required. Typing skills (40+WPM), grammar/spelling abilities and medical terminology *The “Essential” and “Non-Essential” functions of the job are listed due to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The breakout of these different functions will not impact the Wage and Salary Program. Basic Cardiac Life Saving certification. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures
