Financial Counselor, Cancer Center Support Services

Job Summary: The Financial Counselor obtains insurance pre-certification for treatment and assists patients in establishing a financial plan for treatment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of three years of insurance or social work. 
• Associate’s degree in Business/Accounting field preferred. 
• Knowledgeable of guidelines and requirements for eligibility, coverage and benefits, and claim submission practices for all government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and Tricare/Champus). Must know basic billing specifications. 
• Working with PC’s, printers, and be able to maneuver between several PC applications. 
• Must be knowledgeable of Windows and Microsoft Word.
