Job Summary: critical Care Physician specializing in inpatient medicine to act as the primary doctor for CarolinaEast Medical Center ICU patients during the time they are hospitalized. This Physician reports to the Medical Director and accepts patient referrals and coordinates all aspects of care for hospital medical patients, referred by medical staff members, especially from the Family Practice and Internal Medicine sections. Responsibilities include: admission, appropriate placement within the hospital, case management, and effective utilization of appropriate resources, discussion of end of life preferences, consultations with sub-specialists, timely and proactive discharge planning, coordination of care with primary care and consulting physicians, and discharge, including ensuring appropriate follow-up is arranged. 7on-7off day schedule.

Minimum Requirements:
- Active Physician's License from the State of North Carolina and certifications from the DEA are required.
- Must be in good standing with the Medical Staff of CarolinaEast Medical Center.
