Patient Counselor, CIM- New Bern

Job Summary: Answers patient questions about billing procedures, arranges pre-payment, conducts patient interviews, gathers information, and enforces financial agreements prior to providing service.

CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over 150 physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. Minimum Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED). 
• Must be able to type 40 words per minute. 
• Must be able to understand and use a computer and be able to handle various tasks at the same time including the telephone ringing while you are with a patient in person. 
• Must have ability to comprehend and implement policy and procedures, 
• including Compliance Program Directives. 
• Knowledge of applicable payer rules and State/Federal regulations. 
• Familiar with all office machines.
