CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over eighty physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. We have specialties including Primary Care, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Oncology, and Urology.
Job Summary: Physician Assistant duties will include, but not be limited to: performing examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic and screening tests, prescribing and ordering medication as appropriate for patients' medical conditions, and referring patients for further care as clinically appropriate. If the primary supervising physician has a question about the management of a patient's medical condition, then they should review and discuss the patient's medical record and medical plan with the physician assistant.
Minimum Requirements: Must demonstrate successful completion of Baccalaureate Degree or a minimum of two years of college in an accredited PA Education Program and be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Maintain BLS/ACLS certifications Must work under the supervision of an M.D. A copy of the PA's Scope of Service must be on file at CIM and CarolinaEast Health System.
