Recreation Therapist, Inpatient Rehab
Job Summary: The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for the organization, implementation, and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation Services to patients for whom abilities to cope with tasks of living are impaired by physical, social, emotional, or cognitive limitations. The Recreation Therapist provides care utilizing appropriate developmental approaches to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients referred by physicians. Work also includes general recreation services for patients in the Rehabilitation Unit. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers.

Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or Recreation Administration with an option in Therapeutic Recreation.
- Maintain certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and licensure as a licensed Recreation Therapist through the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure (LRT).
- One year of clinical experience working as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a rehab setting is desirable.
