Job Summary: The Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) is responsible for providing basic and advanced PSG services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Registered PSG Technologist performs standard as well as advanced PSG studies. The individual will employ basic/complex physiologic monitoring and participate in training, cross-training, product evaluation, research, and technology development.The RPSGT is required to deliver services to patients in all areas of the hospital and within the laboratory setting. The individual performs departmental duties day and night as required. The individual is responsible for the monitoring and delivery of respiratory related duties during the performance of studies. The person in this position is expected to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with indirect, minimal supervision and must make many independent decisions.

Minimum Requirements: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) preferred with registry eligible status required. Registry eligible candidates must obtain RPSGT credential within one year from date of hire. Current AHA BLS certification. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
